THE Cluj Napoca ROTARACT CLUB was founded in December 1994, by 22 members, under the patronage of Cluj Napoca Rotary Club. Its status as a club was acknowledged on the 17th of May 1995, when it was also charted by the 1660 District Governor of the time, Mr Jacques Verrier. The Rotaract Club is a promoter of the Rotarian principles, namely: - Raising one's respect towards human rights;
- The admission of any profession as an important instrument for the community service;
- Encouraging the application, acceptance and promotion of common-sense rules, during the practice of any profession, whatsoever;
- Encouraging the best understanding of communitys problems and needs, as well as the global problems.
The Rotaract Cluj Napoca Club is the upholder of different activities that need to ensure the community welfare, as well as the promoter of world peace and understanding. The founding members’ enthusiasm, proven through their actions of promoting these principles, made other young people join their mission. The club’ s projects, have and are still aiming at: - Assisting orphans and the elderly from various care homes
- Repairing certain hospital parts, and classrooms from rural schools.
- Building a mountain hut, close to the Scarisoara glacier.
- Offering gifts at the beginning of the school year, on Christmas or Easter
- Taking trips to foreign Rotaract and Rotary clubs(Germany, England, America)
- Mutual projects with Rotary Cluj Club, as well as taking part in different social events
- Fundraising parties, or raffles, for charity
- Eco projects, focusing on waste collection from green urban spaces
The Rotaract Cluj Napoca Club is a supporter of an ongoing and constantly developing relationship among its members, based on friendship, mutual help and trust, in order to create opportunities for self improvement as well as to prove ourselves useful to the community we try to serve. With a motivated and well-organized team, with precise goals in mind, our club is constantly trying to become even more active in serving its community. No matter what their activities might be, the Rotaractians must be cheerful and openhearted, always making new friends and at the same time helping the world become a better place. Our future plans should materialize in: - A better involvement in the city's cultural and social life
- Helping the ones in need
- Continuing and improving eco projects
- Actions towards a better communication among young people, as well as the promotion of the Rotaractian name
